The site links Silk Board Metro Station to Madiwala bus stop via two main routes. The first uses 36th Main and the pedestrian overpass across the Rajakaluve. The second passes under the Silk Board flyover, following 3rd Cross Road to Hosur Road.
Issues
●The pedestrian overpass presents safety and accessibility concerns, including unhygienic conditions, poor lighting, inadequate landings, and a lack of access for people with physical disabilities. ●The under-flyover area and the path to Hosur Road are undeveloped, creating safety risks. The footpath on Hosur Road is too narrow for current pedestrian volumes.
Priority Interventions
●Redesign the pedestrian overpass for universal accessibility, eliminate garbage accumulation, and install street lighting. ●Develop the path from the metro station through the underpass to Hosur Road, incorporating nature-based solutions to mitigate flooding. ●Redevelop the footpath along Hosur Road up to the Madiwala bus stop.
