Site context
The junction is at the intersection of Haralur Main Road, Kudlu Road, and Silver County Road. It is a large junction - 100m wide, that essentially integrates 2 T junctions. It witnesses severe traffic jams as it connects to Hosur Road in the west and Bellandur to the north. The road also carries a significant number of construction trucks, water tankers, and school buses (schools nearby: VIBGYOR, Narayana, NPS, Orchids, Cambridge, etc.).
Issues
Despite heavy traffic, there is no pedestrian crossing infrastructure, leading to a continuous stream of vehicles which creates a highly unsafe environment for pedestrians.
Footpaths leading to the junction are largely absent or discontinuous, and there are no street lights.
Priority Interventions
Develop footpaths around the junction and along the roads leading to it, with street lights, kerb ramps, etc.
Add pedestrian crossing, signalisation, refuge island, signage, to create safe passage for pedestrians
Streamline carriageway to provide the remaining space to the footpath kerb.
