Site context
The site is a 280m long vacant space under the flyover located between two upcoming metro stations - HRBR Metro Station and Kalyan Nagar Metro Station. The entry to the site is from the 7th Main Road junction on Outer Ring Road, which is also a critical link between HRBR Layout and Chelekere Lake.
Issues
Currently, the space is filled with construction debris and used for parking of construction vehicles. The site has also become a public urination and garbage spot. Meanwhile, the junction is highly unsafe for pedestrians to cross.
Priority Interventions
Convert the under flyover space into a planned parking zone that can enhance first and last-mile connectivity for the upcoming metro stations.
Improvement of 7th Main Junction:
- Redesign the junction to create entry and exit for vehicular for the parking area under the flyover
- Add pedestrian crossings, refuge islands, crossing, signage, pedestrian signals
