This project redefines the site as a prominent public square, utilising a central Clock Tower or Stambha to anchor the temple’s cultural identity. By integrating community engagement and cultural programming, the design transforms the space into a vibrant civic hub.
Site context
The site is located at the junction of Pipeline Road and 60ft Road in Kurubarahalli. It serves as a vital pedestrian gateway leading toward a prominent local temple.
Issues
The site currently lacks a distinct identity, resulting in unorganised vendor encroachment and pedestrian congestion. Despite its cultural significance, the space is underutilised, poorly defined, and fails to serve as a meaningful public gathering point for the local community.
