Yelahanka Railway Transition Edge

Area / Length:

619 m

Main access road:

Yelahanka Junction Road

Nominee:

Sir MV school of architecture

Budget

₹ 1 - 5 Crore

Priority Interventions

  • Revitalize the edge into a vibrant, dual-use market and food street.

  • Expand the roadway, install street lighting, and create dedicated pedestrian paths with integrated seating to ensure safe station access.

Site context

This strategic edge serves as the primary approach to Yelahanka Old Town Railway Station. It acts as a critical transition zone for commuters between the residential core and regional transit infrastructure.

Issues

The stretch is a dark, unsafe corridor plagued by illegal dumping and congestion. Lack of lighting, seating, and pathways makes it inaccessible and dangerous for commuters, especially women, during late evening hours.
