Priority Interventions

The intervention strategy focuses on revitalising the street through:

  •  The comprehensive repair of footpaths on both sides of the road to ensure a continuous walking surface.

  • To manage vehicular access, the plan involves installing fixed bollards or retractable bollards to support pedestrianisation as needed.

  • Install street lights along the entire stretch to enhance safety.

  • Ensure universal accessibility throughout the street.

Site context

The site is located at Link Road 4 Cross Road, bordered by the Defence Colony Cricket Ground to the west and the BFLA Football Ground to the east. The street is near the FGAG church, which experiences high footfall on Sundays and during festivals, resulting in significant congestion from vehicular parking.

Issues

  • Vehicles are parked on both sides of the street on Sundays and during festivals.

  • Garbage dumping and public urination occur along the edge of the playground.

  • The footpath along the edge is damaged.

  • The park lacks regular maintenance.
