Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

1. Can individual citizens nominate a public space?

If you are an individual citizen who wants to nominate a space, please find a community group near you with whom you can collaborate. They may be a resident welfare association (RWA), an apartment association (AA), a Non-Governmental organisation (NGO), community-based organisation (CBO), commercial association or a Trust. If you are unable to do so, you can reach out to us at info@sensinglocal.in, and we will try to connect you with the same.

Whether you are an individual citizen or an architect/urban designer/designer nominating a public space near you, you must identify a community group with whom to collaborate.

  • Enable and support participatory sessions to inform the design of the public space.

Creating a repository through a public invitation to all Bengalurians is a bottom-up way to identify under-utilised local public spaces in different neighbourhoods across Bengaluru, which, if transformed, can profoundly impact the quality of life of the people who engage with them daily.

The repository's creation is a one-time exercise for the next five years. BBMP will use this pool of public spaces to select some for redevelopment on an annual basis.

4. What will happen once a public space is in the repository?

The sites will be assessed for the scope of transformation and its potential impact. Based on thbe identified for budgeting and implementation on an annual basis for the next 5 years.
