Importance of the site

There is no safe space to walk. Creating a walking zone promotes foot traffic instead of vehicle traffic specially for people who want to access commercial spaces on OMR. There’s a lot of hawkers who occupy the empty spaces leading to disruption in traffic flow. Developing this zone will also remove the garbage that’s being disposed there constantly.

Proposed idea / vision:

A proper walking path along the railway parallel road creates a safe environment and the confidence in pedestrians to walk more, to venture out in safety and beautifies the space by eliminating garbage, rubble and removing potential for illegal hawker encroachment.
