Importance of the site

As a nearby resident and regular visitor to this area, I have personally experienced the peacefulness of the lake and the joy of walking along this route. However, I’ve also noticed the lack of a clean, designated space where people can sit, stretch, or simply pause during their walk. This open space has great potential, and it pains me to see it go unused and neglected. I believe that transforming it, even in a small way, will bring a sense of pride, belonging, and wellbeing to everyone who uses it—including myself. Being part of a positive change in my own neighborhood is something I deeply care about.

Proposed idea / vision:

Proposal: Developing a Relaxation Space for Joggers and Walkers Near Valmark Apas I would like to propose a simple yet impactful development of the vacant government land located in front of the Valmark Apas apartment complex and adjacent to the lake. This location is already frequented by residents and joggers who use the nearby path for their morning walks and exercise. Currently, the space is underutilized and scattered with garbage. With minimal investment, this area can be transformed into a clean, inviting relaxation zone. The following small-scale interventions can make a significant difference: Garbage cleanup and leveling of the ground Installation of a few durable benches Planting a few native shade-giving trees (if not already present) These efforts will provide joggers and walkers with a peaceful place to rest, reflect, or simply enjoy the view of the lake. It will promote wellness, encourage community interaction, and enhance the public value of the space. Given that the land is already available and the required changes are minimal, the cost involved would be low. Yet, the appreciation from the community and the positive environmental and health impact would be immense. I believe this small initiative will make a big difference and set an example of community-friendly, low-cost urban space improvement.
