Importance of the site
The small lane is currently facing multiple issues stemming from unregulated and competing uses of the space. Visitors to the nearby temple frequently park their two-wheelers haphazardly, causing congestion and obstructing movement. Additionally, the presence of a sweetcorn cart adds to the disorganization, while the area is further degraded by its misuse as a garbage dumping site. This cluttered environment not only reduces the functionality of the lane but also compromises safety, hygiene, and the overall aesthetic appeal of the neighborhood.
Proposed idea / vision:
The small lane is currently congested due to the unregulated parking of visitors' two-wheelers for the nearby temple and the presence of a sweetcorn cart, in addition to it being misused as a garbage dumping site. To address these issues and make better use of the space, I propose to reorganize the area by dividing it into two functional zones: one designated for organized two-wheeler and sweetcorn cart parking, and the other developed as a children’s play area and toddler zone. This second zone would also include small "katte"-style seating for parents, creating a safe and welcoming community space.
