Importance of the site

Dhoopanahalli playground is already utilised by children living in and around this area. The playground is also utilised by residents to organise events such as independence day/ Republic day etc. This play ground also has a raised portion which is not utilised and this area has become a dumping ground for garbage , debris, and other foreign matter making it ugly and unhygenic, resulting in vermin and mosquitos infesting the area

Proposed idea / vision:

The raised portion can be developed into a senior citizen park with a walking pathway and few benches installed under shade. We can also have few basic fitness equipment installed thus making it a peaceful green setting for rest and relaxation. This will be a welcome facility for our elderly residents who currently lack a dedicated accessible space for light recreation and social interaction. The space along the play ground (different from the raised edge) as you enter the gate is currently under utilised and may be vulnerable to encroachment(there have been attempts by some individuals to claim it as their own in the past) This area can be designated as a dog park with minimal infrastructure such as 1. Fencing to clearly define the boundary 2. Waste disposal bins 3. A simple notice board outlining the usage rulers. This will address the needs of the pet owners while also protecting the land from the unauthorize usage of encroachment and also to reduce trash being dumped in the area
