Clear definition of the road geometry with kerb edges. Creation of a wide footpath, on at least one side of the road (preferably the railway side), along with street lights.
Installation of CCTV cameras at strategic locations.
Creation of a visible garbage collection point near 1 st cross.
Site context
The site is a 400m road stretch in the forest, Layout from ISI rear exit to 1st cross road, with a reserve forest on one side and the railway buffer on the other. A connector to Mysore Road with first- and last-mile access to the bus and metro networks. Heavily used by pedestrians working in nearby garment factories, walkers, and public transport commuters
Issues
Fast-paced movement of vehicles, including school buses, as there are no other roads intersecting this stretch.
No footpaths on either side of the road, and discontinuous streetlights, make it dangerous to walk in daylight and at night.
Garbage dumping and burning are rampant along the stretch.
