Priority Interventions
Redevelopment of the footpaths on the 900m road stretch and 4 main junctions - RT Nagar Key interventions include:
Streamlining of the carriage way to maximise the footpath, removal of all encroachment by shops, and creation of designated parking zones
Addition of bus shelters and relocation based on the adequacy of the footpath width
Implementation of pedestrian crossing, select signalisation and traffic calming measures at all junctions
Access roads and junctions near schools need to follow IRC 32 - Safe Routes to School guidelines
Site context
Dinnur Road, a mixed-use connector street with market areas, schools, and a key bus route that will connect to a future metro station.
Issues
The absence of pedestrian crossings and signals forces people to navigate through traffic. There are no bus shelters, footpaths are narrow, and parking is haphazard.
