Priority Interventions

  • Develop a mini forest (with native species) in the land parcel.

  • Clear legacy waste, fence the land parcel to prevent dumping and encroachment.

  • Regulate cab parking and informal vending along the edges to reduce congestion and misuse.

Site context

The site is 600m x 40m of vacant land along a railway line, lined with large, beautiful avenue trees. The land is owned by DRDO.

Issues

The site is now witnessing garbage dumping of household waste and discarded furniture. The footpaths, particularly Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, are increasingly overtaken by cab parking due to the IT office complexes in the area and vendors forcing people to walk on the road.
