Bounded by the 1st Main tank bund road (south), the northern water-inflow edge, Bannerghatta Road (west), and a slum and playground (east), this site is a vital ecological anchor situated near two local schools.
Issues
●Commercial garages and private vehicles have encroached upon the park edge for parking. ●Excessively high walls and grills create an imporous, caged environment that lacks visual neighborhood connection. ●Poorly engineered drainage systems direct water away from the park rather than toward it. ●The stormwater drain obstructs natural flow from northern streets, necessitating a complete watershed redesign.
Priority Interventions
Removal of vehicles dumped by garages to create walkway for pedestrians, landscaping and seating space. Explore the re-engineering of the rajakaluve to enable surface water flows from the neighbourhood to the water-bodies in the park Parking management for residents and schools Redesign the park fence to enable greater visual porosity.
