Universally accessible walkway around Richards Park

Site context

The site is the walkway around Richards park, a heritage zone is the heart and soul of Richards town community. The residents use it for a myriad of activities such as walking, badminton, karate classes, jogging and more. 

Issues

Due to large trees, the pathways are uneven and broken in several places, creating unsafe walking conditions for residents. Enhancing accessibility for all user groups and increasing safety would be imperative

Priority Interventions

Create an even, unobstructed, and universally accessible pathway around the park, with safe crossing areas to the neighbourhood road abutting it.
