Priority Interventions
● Restore the neglected natural corridor into a safe, usable, and protected green space. ● Remove existing waste and improve soil quality. ● Protect existing native trees and introduce biodiversity-supportive planting (e.g., butterfly- and bird-friendly species) ● Allow walking and cycling, ensuring universal accessibility for children, students, elderly persons, and people of all genders and abilities. ● Install safe pedestrian crossings and traffic-calming measures on both sides of Hennur Main Road. ● Integrate the bus stop and improve public transport access.
Site context
Located along Hennur Main Road near Hennur Junction, this site is a narrow park stretch approximately 500 metres long and 50 metres wide. It lies Outer Ring Road and the service road. The stretch is surrounded by several educational institutions (Chris Canadian Degree College, Indo-Asian Girls PU College), residential areas, and commercial activity zones, but currently lacks safe, inviting access.
Issues
Originally fenced and developed by BBMP with seating, the area is now neglected, with broken infrastructure, dumped waste, and signs of anti-social activity.
