Wide, continuous and obstruction-free footpaths with proper alignment of OFC cables, barricaded in high-conflict locations
Installation of pedestrian signals and cameras at junctions.
Clearly marked road lanes and large streetlights to ensure safer driving.
Addition of relaxing spaces for residents to socialise.
Site context
24th Main and 27th Main are key commercial spines for HSR Layout, with a mix of pedestrians, parking, and heavy traffic. Streets are occupied by food carts, permanent vendors and littering.
Issues
Lack of walkable footpaths along the stretch, with garbage littered everywhere, force people to walk in traffic and opt for use of private transport. There is also no drainage system in many places.
