Site context

The site is the 300m conservancy lane between Anjaheya Temple Street and Netta Kalappa Circle, with the pilot area proposed for a 100m stretch, until D V Gundappa Road. The conservancy lane is already paved and used by residents as an access road by pedestrians and vehicles.

Issues

Vehicular parking and electrical utility blocks significant portions of the conservancy lanes.

Priority Interventions

Redesigning the conservancy lane for recreation with a special focus on elderly residents and children with exercise equipment, and children's play areas. Parking management across the network of conservancy lanes to create pedestrian-only segments. Installation of bollards at the entry of the conservancy lanes to create pedestrian-only stretches Creation of a table top crossing and signage to enable safer pedestrian movement.
