BLR-275
Byrasandra Lakefront Transformation
Area / Length:
383 m
Main access road:
Bagmane Tech Park Road
Nominee:
Urbs Indis
Partner:
Krishnappa Garden Residents Association
Priority Interventions
Complete redevelopment of the footpaths along Byrasandra Lake Road, along with new fencing (kept 1 m high) and street lights to create a Lake-View Walkway. Streamlining of the carriage way and utilisation of the residual area to introduce social and seating spaces. Removal of all overgrown weeds and plants to improve safety. Installation of a public toilet and waste collection point. Pedestrian access gate to connect Krishnappa Garden to the Bagmane Tech Park road via Kelagiankare lake.
Site context
There are two proposed sites. One is the 400m access road to Krishnappa Garden along Byrasandra Melina Kere, which marks the front entrance of Bagmane Tech Park. The second connected site is the back edge of Krishnappa Garden that connects to Kelagiankare Lake.
Issues
The Byrasandra Lake Road has no usable footpath. The lakeside footpath is 2 feet wide and is completely broken with overgrown weeds. The tech park side footpath is blocked by parked cabs. The lake fence is broken in several places, and the edge has several garbage black spots.
