Priority Interventions

  • Development of a continuous footpath on both sides of the road from the cave temple till the Shri Satyanarayana Swamy temple junction, with clear parking zones for school vehicles and private vehicles.

  • Redevelopment of the katte area to create a social area and rest zone while conserving the historicity and ecology of the place. To include a repaving, a public toilet, seating, a zone for the existing vendor, removal of construction debris, etc.

Site context

The site is a 300m stretch from the historic Shri Gavi (Cave) temple to the Shri Satyanarayana Swamy temple, marked by a Katte and BGS National Public School.

Issues

Footpaths are unusable across the stretch. In some segments, the walkways are demarcated but left partially built and are now blocked by parked private vehicles and mini-buses. The katte area is dilapidated and dominated by a single vendor.
