ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನರುಜ್ಜೀವಿತಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು
Priority Interventions
Complete footpath development with single-side parking along a 250-meter stretch from Tumkur Road to the railway depot entrance junction.
Develop a 400-metre-long, 7-metre-wide pipeline buffer, including footpaths and a linear parkway with play and social areas.
Remove encroachments from the footpath and pipeline buffer, including sheds, tea stalls, and truck parking.
Site context
The Ragavendra Pipeline road serves as the primary access road for residents of middle- and low-income households. It acts as the first and last-mile connection to the Yeshwanthpur metro station. In addition, Garment workers crossing from the east side of Yashwantpur to the west side across the railway line use the road to walk to work. So do children walking to schools nearby.
Issues
The road is extremely narrow with no footpath which make it extremely dangerous particularly for school children and women who are regular users of this space. The pipeline buffer land was once landscaped and the residents have planted the existing trees as well, but it is currently completely dilapidated and parts of it are also starting to get encroached.
