Priority Interventions

The proposed intervention aims to enhance social utility and safety by adding six more benches and tables in the stretch between 15th and 16th Cross. The footpath will also be redeveloped with integrated street lighting and ramps to ensure universal accessibility for all users. Furthermore, a dedicated no-parking zone will be established along this stretch to maintain clear lines of sight and preserve the visibility and openness of the newly created social space.

Site context

The site is at the edge of the BDA complex. Two benches facing each other have transformed the space into a place for residents to pause and hang out. Residents appreciate this space and want to upgrade it in small ways and make it more accessible.

Issues

  • Limited seating capacity

  • Lack of universal accessibility and lighting
