ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನರುಜ್ಜೀವಿತಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು
Priority Interventions
Design and install information boards at 3 locations along the footpath: 2nd temple road, 15th cross road (opposite Panchavati), and Kempegowda Tower Park, to foster awareness and curiosity about the initiative and inspire other waste management efforts.
Site context
Zero Waste Collective-Malleswaram has been pioneering a decentralized system for temple waste management. The temple waste is collected and segregated at Sri Dakshinamukha Nandi Tirtha Kalyaani Kshetra and it is processed at Kempegowda Tower Park and Panchavati.
Issues
Many Malleswaram residents don’t know that temple waste processing is taking place in the neighbourhood. There is also a need for greater community engagement on sustainable waste management practices to actively reduce waste, improve source-segregation, eliminate waste black spots, and build empathy for frontline workers in the sector.
