BLR-232

Upgrading Pottery Town Metro Access

Area / Length:

327 m

Main access road:

Borebank road

Nominee

Borebank road

Budget

₹ 1 - 5 Crore

Priority Interventions

  • Repair and closure railway wall breaches to prevent unsafe track crossings.

  •  Remove all legacy waste and construction debris.

  •  Relocate auto-tippers and waste storage to a designated facility away from this connector street.

  •  Regularise the carriageway and develop wide, continuous, universally accessible footpaths with tree shade, bus bays, drop-off zones, and regulated parking (where permitted).

Site context

The site is a 200-metre first- and last-mile road segment connecting Benson Town to Pottery Town Metro Station.

Issues

  • Footpaths are narrow, discontinuous, and encroached by waste and construction debris, forcing pedestrians onto the carriageway.

  •  Auto-tippers are parked where footpaths should exist and are used to store waste, creating unhygienic conditions.

  •  A breach in the railway wall due to ongoing work is used by pedestrians to cross tracks, leading to accidents.
