The intervention strategy seeks to establish the site as "A Gateway to Kasturi Nagar", creating a distinct sense of arrival and local identity. This involves:
Reclaiming encroached spaces for community use and streamlining traffic flow.
The redesign of critical junctions to improve access to the lake, OMR, and ORR, prioritising pedestrian safety through upgraded crossings and a clear spatial hierarchy.
Site context
This junction is the primary gateway to Kasturi Nagar, intersecting the Outer Ring Road and Indiranagar. It is heavily impacted by major Metro and flyover infrastructure, creating fragmented, unused urban pockets.
Issues
Large Infrastructure has encroached public parks,creating inaccessible and unsafe spaces.
Heavy through-traffic compromises resident safety on local streets.
Poor junction design makes pedestrian access to the lake and transit hubs dangerous and accident-prone.
