Footpaths are either absent, encroached upon, or broken. Pedestrians are constantly forced to walk into heavy vehicular traffic, including trucks, which is made even more dangerous by flooding and potholes. Drainage problems also need to be addressed to prevent flooding in the area. Inadequate street lighting creates safety concerns.

Auto-repair and fabrication shops on Indira Canteen Road and 17th Main Road are a regular feature that spill over to the footpath. There are large gas cylinder storage agencies which park trucks all around, and invite through traffic of heavy trucks. There are also several old vehicles dumped on the government school road and 27th cross road that need to be removed.
