Importance of the site
It is an important stretch for Yelahanka old town because it’s an edge and people are unaware of the directions to this stretch and the people using the railway are facing few issues like lack of food stalls and seating spaces . During the night the stretch is completely dark and is unsafe for women in particular
Proposed idea / vision:
I analysed the stretch and came into a conclusion that the stretch clearly lacks food stalls and the road leading to the station is very narrow where 4 wheeler vehicles face an issue to enter the road along with poor pedestrian connectivity . So I came up with an urban intervention of revitalisation of the railway edge into a food street with widening of the road scheme, so that during the evening it can be a food street and during the morning it can be a market so that the space becomes lively and vibrant . Proper pedestrian connectivity from the food stalls to the railway station can be looked at as well because it lacks pedestrian pathways and public seatings. It also needs to be illuminated by street lights as it is very unsafe to walk on that stretch during the late evenings .
