Importance of the site

Developing this junction is crucial for enhancing public safety, accessibility, and community well-being. Currently underutilized and poorly maintained, the area poses risks to pedestrians and lacks basic amenities. By introducing proper pathways, seating, waste management, and heritage restoration, we can transform it into a vibrant, functional, and culturally significant public space. This not only improves daily life for residents and commuters but also promotes sustainable urban development and helps preserve the identity and history of the area.

Proposed idea / vision:

I propose the holistic development of a key road junction to enhance urban livability and cultural value. The initiative includes creating well-designed public seating areas and ensuring a safe, continuous pedestrian pathway equipped with protective bollards. Regular cleaning and garbage removal will be implemented to improve hygiene and aesthetics. Additionally, an old building of heritage value at the junction will be adaptively reused—respecting its historic character while repurposing it for public or cultural use. This intervention aims to foster community engagement, improve safety, and celebrate local heritage in a functional urban space.
